For most of its existence, the Little Art Theatre did not sell concession items aside from fresh-brewed coffee, herbal tea and our famous Butter Bars which were all bought using the Honor System in a ceramic pot. Our lobby is small, our atmosphere intimate and quaint. Nevertheless, a difficult but necessary decision was reached in 1987 and a small concession stand was added.
We put a great deal of thought into the concession items that we sell from our tiny stand. Our popcorn is freshly popped daily, not pre-popped and shipped to the theatre in a truck. Many theatres use highly saturated fat oils, like coconut oil, laden with artificial ingredients to make popcorn. We use only pure peanut oil, naturally colored with carotene. We offer unique seasonings for our popcorn at no extra cost: Spud & Dave's Cajun Spice, Mild Curry powder, Nutritional Yeast and Butter Buds™ since we are unable to serve real butter per Greene County Health Department guidelines. (One must have a three-well sink — wash-rinse-dry — for which we have no more room to accommodate!)
In addition to a selection of gourmet milk and dark chocolates from New York, we still feature fresh brewed coffee and our specially blended Herbal Teas as well as our ever-popular Butter Bars and a delicious Key Lime Bar. Some popular soft drinks have been added to our selection of Blue Sky™ natural sodas, Sparkling and Still Waters, and Arizona Plum Green Tea.
Outside food and drinks are not permitted in the theatre.
Our concession prices are competitive yet on the low side of those prices charged by other theaters. We welcome any suggestions you may have or items you would like to see added to our concession selection.
